We are one step closer to welcoming the Avondale community back home.
The renovated Avondale Branch Library reopens Saturday, Nov. 7. Join us at 10 a.m. for a ribbon-cutting, followed by a community celebration and a first look at the refreshed space.
Activities will include:
- 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Music with DJ Essential.
- 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Photo booth fun.
- 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Face painting and balloon twisting with Little Fox Faces.
- 2 - 3 p.m. - Cookie decorating with New Leaf Kitchen.
The renovation brings together improvements that customers will see immediately and important building work that will serve the Avondale neighborhood well into the future, including:
- New welcoming front entrance
- Renovated meeting room space with Maker Equipment
- New furniture, carpet, paint and lighting
- Enhanced service point
- New heating and cooling system
- Expanded quiet group study area and rooms
- Vibrant kids space
This work is part of CHPL’s Facilities Master Plan and reflects the Library’s continued commitment to welcoming, useful neighborhood spaces.
We are grateful for the community’s patience throughout the renovation and temporary service period. We look forward to seeing you on Nov. 7.
