We are one step closer to welcoming customers back to a renovated Avondale Branch Library.
As work continues on the Avondale Branch renovation, service at the temporary library location inside Living God Church, 434 Forest Avenue, will end on Tuesday, September 15. The renovated branch is expected to reopen a few weeks later, and we'll share more information as soon as an opening date is confirmed.
The Avondale Branch renovation is part of CHPL's Facilities Master Plan and includes both important building improvements and enhancements designed to create a better experience for customers. This project is made possible by the taxpayers of Hamilton County. When the branch reopens, visitors can look forward to:
- A welcoming front entrance
- An updated children's space
- A renovated meeting room with maker equipment
- A quiet group study area
- A new service point
- New carpet, paint, furnishings, lighting, and other building improvements
Behind the scenes, the project also includes foundation waterproofing, electrical and mechanical upgrades, additional heat, new basement windows, and LED lighting. These improvements will help ensure the branch continues serving the community for years to come.
Need Library Service?
While the branch is closed, customers can visit any CHPL location. Customers traveling by METRO may find the St. Bernard and Clifton Branch Libraries to be convenient options because they are among the shortest bus rides from Avondale.
Holds will be routed to the Walnut Hills Branch Library until the renovated branch opens.
We know closures can be inconvenient, and we're grateful for your patience as this work is completed. We're excited to share a refreshed Avondale Branch Library with the community soon.
