The Teen Art Contest is back for 2025! Running from Oct. 6-31, this year's theme is "River Roots." Voting has now closed. Check out the winners and finalists below!
About the Contest

Submission Guidelines
The contest is for ages 13-18. Art must be an original two-dimensional artwork and submitted through an entry form.
You can submit artwork beginning Oct. 6. Please scan your entry before submitting. You can scan materials for free at any library branch.
Winning Designs
- The top three designs will have their artwork featured through custom bookmarks distributed in all 41 library locations.
Timeline
- Oct. 6-31: Artists can submit their artwork
- Nov. 3: Finalists are chosen and shared on CHPL's social media accounts and website
- Nov. 3-7: The public is invited to vote for their choice to win the contest by voting on our social media accounts and website
- Nov. 10: Contest winners are announced
Rules
Entries will be judged on creativity, style, and incorporation of the theme, “River Roots.”
Content should be appropriate for the teen audience, in accordance with CHPL’s Standards of Behavior. If you are entering more than one piece of art in the contest, turn in one entry form with each piece of art you submit. There is a limit of two entries per person.
Finalists will be chosen at the end of the submission period by Library staff. The winners of the contest will be chosen by the public through polling results on CHPL.org and CHPL social media accounts.
This Year's Theme is 'River Roots!'
Teens ages 13–18 were invited to design a bookmark inspired by 2025's theme, “River Roots."
"River Roots" encompasses the nature, transportation, history, and culture of America's river communities. We can't wait to see what you dream up!
