CHPL Customers Celebrate Staff on Library Workers Day

Written by Joe Armstrong, Content Specialist, Marketing, Downtown Main Library

Today is National Library Workers Day, a time where staff from libraries across the country are recognized for their work in keeping our libraries running. As part of our celebration, we asked CHPL customers to share a note to their favorite library staff member or library location.

To: The Westwood Branch Library Staff
From: Alexis S.

"Always such a great experience at this location! I always need helping printing things and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Today, Kaih (Library Customer Adviser) was especially helpful with showing me how to download and email articles."

To: Ms. Katy (Delhi Branch Library)
From: Jennifer T.

"Katy Dettinger at the Delhi Branch Library is amazing. She has been a big part of my daughter's library experience since she was 2 years old. My daughter is now a volunteer with the Delhi Branch Library. My daughter truly grew up with this wonderful branch and this sweet lady. We have gone to family nights and story times. She has been a great role model for my daughter and always encouraging her reading and overall well-being. Ms. Katy really cares about the kids and families."

To: Ms. Kathy (Miami Township Branch Library)
From: Amber B.

"Ms. Kathy is so special. She greets all of the children by name at Movers and Shakers. I see the kids walk right up to her and give her a hug because they love her so much. Ms. Kathy always makes sure to include my son who has Autism and sensory issues. She has such a kind heart and the community is so lucky to have her."

To: The College Hill Branch Library Staff
From: Lavenia J.

"When I come to the library, I go to fax and scan documents. The staff are always helpful friendly and welcoming. What I love most is how they respect the children from the community. They engage with them help them with homework. I feel comfortable allowing my children to come to the library. This place fosters community and I feel love there. Thank you for all that you all do. You are much appreciated. ????"

To: The Monfort Heights Branch Library Staff
From: Amanda P.

"I can't say enough good things about you and the programming you offer for preteen/teens. My son loves the programming so much. The ideas you put into motion are things that are genuinely things he wants to attend. He even recruits his friends to attend programs with him and he's upset when it happens to be a week where he's not spending part of his Friday evening at the library. You all are so special and we appreciate you so much!"

To: The Deer Park Branch Library Staff
From: Skyler C.

"The staff at the Deer Park Branch Library are the utopia of librarians: constantly kind, helpful, zealous in endeavoring to resolve my every need, and endlessly patient with my young children. They’ve located books for me, run children’s story times, reprinted scavenger hunts intended for other people, and re-shelved likely thousands of books on behalf of my family (not an exaggeration). I’ve been visiting the Deer Park Branch Library since long before it’s expansion, and I can’t begin to tell you how happy and grateful I am for its existence in our community. The work of the librarians at this branch have greatly improved my life. Thank you, thank you!"
