To make your Library experience even more convenient, CHPL’s free mobile app now includes research databases and library news. The app is now customizable, too!
Customize Your CHPL App
With the newest versions of the CHPL app, you can change the app’s home screen to display the information you’re looking for in the order you’d like to see it.
First, make sure you have the latest version of the CHPL app. Once logged in, customize the app’s home screen by selecting the items you’d like to see and the order in which they’re displayed. Click the gear in the upper right. Next, select “Customize home screen”.

Then, arrange the app to your liking! Check items to include them on the app home screen. Tap the up/down arrows to update the display order.
For blog posts, the default view will display the most recent. For Research Databases (named Online Resources on the app), the default view is set to featured items.

The CHPL app is packed with great features. If you haven’t used them already, try these out!
- Check Out Books and Materials at Branches
You may already use the Library’s app to renew books or find events to attend, but did you know the app also comes in handy when you’re at CHPL? Join your friends and neighbors who are using the app to scan and check out books and materials while visiting one of CHPL’s 41 locations.
This feature is an easy way to skip the line at the Library’s checkouts. In fact, more than 7,100 checkouts have been completed using the app in the past 12 months! When you find physical books or materials you’d like to check out, open the CHPL app, click on the shopping cart icon in the top menu, and scan the barcodes on the books or materials to check out. This works for your holds, too!
- Store Multiple Cards on Your App
Busy families, did you know that you can store not only your own library card on the CHPL app, but also those of your children, spouse, or other relatives? Easily switch from your card to theirs to check out items and find out when books and materials are ready to pick up, due, or overdue.
