If you’ve recently taken a stroll around your neighborhood and noticed an unusual amount of teddy bears hanging out in people’s windows it’s because Library family members across the country are going on a bear hunt—and you can too!
While it’s unclear where exactly the now-viral bear hunt that’s storming the nation originated, we couldn’t be more excited to get communities in Cincinnati and Hamilton County in on all the fun!
It's as simple as it is entertaining for the whole family:
- First, read the beloved children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, opens a new window by Michael Rosen. You can even watch Miss Sondra read it to you, opens a new window as part of the At Home Storytime series, opens a new window on the Library’s YouTube channel.
- Next, go outside on your very own bear hunt and see how many stuffed bears you can spot in your neighbors’ windows. Be sure to put a bear in your own window too!
- When you spot a bear, snap a picture and share it with us on social media by tagging @cincylibrary and using #OhioBearHunt.
We can’t wait to see all the bears you find on your bear hunt. It’s our hope this activity brings an extra dose of joy into your family’s day while the Library remains closed to the public. Just remember to practice social distancing when you’re out and about on your walk. Here’s to staying safe, healthy, and happy!
