As we approach the holiday season, and coronavirus cases continue to rise in Ohio and throughout the region and country, we remain focused on the well-being of our staff and community. For this reason, the Library’s Senior Leadership Team has determined that it is prudent to extend our Thanksgiving in-building service closure through the weekend following the Thanksgiving holiday.
We are closing for in-building, drive-thru, and curbside service starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, and will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30. We intend to resume our normal service schedule at that time.
Our Virtual Information Center is remaining open during regular hours (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) Friday, Nov. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 28. While we understand that in-building services are important to our community, we also understand that in order to do our best to remain open and staffed appropriately through the coming months of the pandemic, we need to take into consideration the potential impact of holiday gatherings..
We believe our staff and community are going to heed local and state officials’ calls to wear masks, maintain physical distance, wash hands, and limit gatherings. The short pause following the holiday allows customers and staff more time to assess their coronavirus risk and exposure more effectively before returning to work or visiting the Library.
We plan to follow a similar model this year following the Christmas holiday. We are currently closed Thursday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 25. We also will be closing Saturday, Dec. 26, for all services.
Thank you for your continued use of the Library and flexibility in working with us as we adjust services during this highly unusual and challenging time.
On behalf of the staff and Trustees, I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
