The Pleasant Ridge Branch Library reopened on Friday, March 31 with refreshed spaces for you to discover!
The branch is reopening after closing in October 2022 to make several critical repairs to the building as well as add some new features requested by the community. This $1.1 million project was made possible through the generous support of Hamilton County as a result of the 1 mill levy that was passed in May 2018.
A Refreshed Branch Library – Inside and Out
The refreshed Pleasant Ridge Branch Library has received many needed behind-the-scenes upgrades to the branch which was built nearly a century ago in 1929. With improved electric infrastructure, critical roof and ceiling repairs, and improved building mechanics, this project ensures that the Library can serve minds of all kinds for many years to come.
While most of the project was dedicated to preserving the building for future generations, there are some new customer-facing features to explore! Six new workstations have been added to the Quiet Room as well as six desktop computers throughout the rest of the branch. There’s no shortage of comfy places to enjoy the branch with cozy, soft seating added to the children’s area and new tables and furniture placed across the building.
