By Jessica Ebert, Conservation Tech & Photographic Documentation Specialist & Catarina Figueirinhas, Senior Conservation Tech of the Preservation Lab

Join the Preservation Lab in celebrating American Library Association's Preservation Week next week, April 25-May 1. One of our main goals in celebrating Preservation Week every year is to connect with the different communities we serve by sharing interesting aspects of preservation. We hope to spark your interest in the Preservation Lab’s work and the importance of preserving our cultural heritage collections. Please join us for the many fun virtual events happening throughout the week.

Monday, April 26  The Lab will be taking over the @cincylibrary’s Instagram stories to break down all the different facets of preservation.

Tuesday, April 27  See what our "Favorite Tools" are and why we chose them, right here on the CHPL blog.

Wednesday, April 28  We'll be sharing our "Favorite Treatments/Projects" on the Preservation Lab blog.

Thursday, April 29  Catarina and Jessica are "Live in the Lab" at noon for an Instagram Live event hosted by @cincylibrary.

Friday, April 30  We are posting a new video on our YouTube channel "How to Create Your Own Collapsible Punching Cradle."

We hope that you can join us for all the activities we have in store for Preservation Week 2021. If you can't wait for the celebration to begin, then check out our past Preservation Week activities.

The Preservation Lab is a collaborative book and paper conservation lab that serves both the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library and the University of Cincinnati Libraries. The Lab is on the main campus of the University of Cincinnati and is jointly funded and staffed by both institutions. The Lab staff members work on both collections to ensure their preservation for present and future generations of patrons and scholars.
