Events, Activities, and More: Celebrate Pride Month at CHPL!

Written by Krystie Salyers, Reference Librarian, Popular Library, Downtown Main Library

The Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library is celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community throughout Pride Month in June! In-person events are being offered across CHPL’s 41 neighborhood branches and the Library is participating in Pride celebrations with events, Take & Make crafts, and storytimes.

Paint with Pride

Join artist Heather Chandler to find your inner Picasso at "Paint with Pride: Portrait Painting in the Post-Impressionist style" at the Downtown Main Library. Create your very own post-Impressionist acrylic painting to take home and display with pride. Space is limited, so register online, opens a new window for this event on Saturday, June 4.

Flair to Wear

Join us Friday, June 17, 3-4 p.m. at the Downtown Main Library to make an assortment of buttons, pins, and headbands to wear for the Cincinnati Pride Parade and Festival (and every day!). Open to tweens and teens ages 10-18. Registration is encouraged, opens a new window as supplies are limited.

Pride Parades and Festivals

The Pride Parade and Festival, opens a new window is back! Cheer on our CHPL staff as we walk in the parade on June 25, then visit the Library’s booth at the Festival at Sawyer Point directly after the parade.

The celebration is just getting started! Check out even more ways to celebrate with the Library:
