You know the feeling. You've just heard about a buzz-worthy new book or movie for the first time and you need to get your hands on it. You can't stand being on the outside of another conversation with friends about it.
So you log into your Library account or walk into your local Branch Library and request the next available copy, placing it on hold. In a couple of days, the item magically appears on the holds shelf or locker with your name on it.
But how did it get there? We're sorry to report it wasn't by magic. In fact, there are lots of people who are all part of the well-oiled process of trapping holds and getting an item to you as quickly as possible for you to enjoy.
We recently created a whole video to give you an inside look into how the holds process works for new materials. Watch it below!
