Written by Adam Vorobok, Reference Librarian, Downtown Main Library
At the end of this season of Warlock Vorobok Reads, after reading otherworld poetry from ancient Greece up until the start of the twentieth century, CHPL's resident warlock ends his supernatural saunter with the King of the Bohemians, George Sterling. On this episode, Warlock Vorobok reads “A Wine of Wizardry,” published in the September 1907 issue of Cosmopolitan. This poem stirred up lots of harsh comments by the critics, but is a spellbinding brilliance of phantasmagorical visions!
Write Your Own "Lovely" Poetry
Join our Writer-in-Residence, Manuel Iris, for a workshop designed to bring us together around shared experiences.
At "We Need to Talk About It: Love," you'll write about the concept of Love. Whether it's about feeling love, needing it, defining it, or admitting the impossibility of defining it, you'll write a short poem or a piece of prose (a memory, short story, a reflection) under the guidance of Manuel Iris, an award-winning poet, essayist, and teacher.
Register for this free workshop on Feb. 25 from 2-3 p.m. at Artsville.
