"Dani has done a remarkable job as The Library Foundation’s Writer-in-Residence in 2020," said Staci Dennison, the Thomas W. Jones Executive Director of The Library Foundation, which funds the Writer-in-Residence program. "Her adaptability to provide relevant and engaging programming in the middle of a global pandemic is remarkable. Moreover, as a journalist and nonfiction writer, she brings a unique and powerful perspective to the residency that the committee felt was timely."
Over the course of the year, McClain hosted in-person and virtual events, including a December virtual roundtable with publishing experts titled There's More Than One Way to Publish a Book.

"I have enjoyed getting to know Cincinnati writers and readers through this year's events, and I'm thrilled that I have another year to grow and deepen those connections," said McClain. "I hope that the community sees the Writer-in-Residence program as one more way to stay connected to writing, books, ideas, and the Library during these tumultuous times."
