Late last night, Governor Mike DeWine issued a line-item veto on a provision in House Bill 96 regarding the placement of materials in public libraries.
This is a significant positive decision for our communities to maintain our libraries as places of open access, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
Thank you and Governor DeWine for standing with the
Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library!
We believe his decision was largely due to our collective advocacy over the past few days. We are incredibly grateful to the thousands of Hamilton County residents who voiced their support for public libraries and contacted the Governor’s Office. His decision helps protect the vital role libraries play in every community.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping your library a welcoming space for minds of all kinds.
