Building the Next Generation Library
The new Symmes Township Branch opened to the public on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Features include:
- 30% larger building, designed for comfort and inclusivity
- Renewable energy features, including geothermal heating and solar energy panels
- Pedestrian-friendly parking lot for safer, easier access
- Convenient drive-thru service
- After-hours holds pick-up for flexible access
- Open marketplace for quick pickup of holds and new materials
- MakerSpace, including vinyl printer, large format scanner, photo printer, and a button maker
- Expanded meeting spaces for community gatherings and events
- Cozy fireplace and quiet reading section
- Dedicated teen space
- Interactive kids' play space that supports literacy and exploration
