Loveland Branch reopens with expanded rooms, MakerSpace

The Loveland Branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County closed temporarily on Monday, Sept. 26 for two weeks as officials put the finishing touches on an expanded space. The branch reopens at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, with a Grand Reopening Ceremony. The public is invited to attend.

Located at 649 Loveland Madeira Road, the branch’s renovation expands it into a second storefront next door and now includes a new TeenSpace, MakerSpace, a meeting room, and study rooms.

The Loveland Branch first opened on Jan. 9, 1967, in the basement of the Loveland Methodist Church. The branch was moved into part of the old IGA building in 1973, placing it closer to the elementary school and the local shopping center. By the early 1990s, an even larger area was needed. In January of 1993, the branch moved to its current location in the Shopper’s Haven Shopping Center.

The branch closed for two weeks beginning Monday, Sept. 26. The book drop remains open and cardholders can pick up their holds at the Symmes Township Branch, 11850 Enyard Road, 45140.
