New poetic voices heard during April’s Poetry in the Garden series

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is celebrating National Poetry Month in April with its 18th annual Poetry in the Garden series.

Special programs will be held every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Each night will feature local poets reading from their works as well as open mic time for anyone who would like to read a poem.

  • April 5 — The Library Foundation’s Writer-in-Residence Jeffrey Hillard is introducing this year’s Poetry in the Garden Contest winners — Ellen Austin-Li, Leslie Clark, Teri Foltz, and Harry DeMaio — who then are reading their poems.
  • April 12 — Megan Moore, Karen Jaquish, Cynthia Ris
  • April 19 — Bea Wissel, Yvette Nepper, Sherry Cook Stanforth
  • April 26 — Writer-in-Residence Jeffrey Hillard, Bucky Ignatius

All programs take place in the Popular Library Lounge at the Main Library.  Poetry in the Garden is co-sponsored by the Greater Cincinnati Writers League.  For more information, call 513-369-6919 or visit www.CincinnatiLibrary.org.
