Sunday on the Stairs

Sunday on the Stairs

Sunday on the Stairs is a live, genre-spanning performance series held on the last Sunday of every month at 2 p.m. at the Downtown Main Library.

Take in Tunes and Oral Histories

Along with a live performance, local artists share the stories of their musical careers with the Library's Huenefeld Story Center through oral history interviews. Think of it as a living archive!

Miss a performance or want to reminisce? View filmed songs from Sunday on the Stairs events on the Library's YouTube channel.

About the Social Stairs

The Social Stairs include over 1,600 songs spanning genres and decades, from 1945 to 2023.

Each baluster of the Social Stairs lists an artist's name, a song or album title, and the year the song debuted. There are 31 colors featured on the Social Stairs, each representing a different genre.

The first floor of the staircase features songs published in 1945, with the timeframe progressing to the present day as you travel up to the third floor of the Downtown Main Library.

As you explore the songs of the Social Stairs, you can borrow most of the songs or stream them for free on Freegal using your Library card!
