Looking Up at the Library

To expand access to STEM-related learning tools and materials, the Library has partnered with The Library Foundation, opens a new window and Dean Regas, opens a new window to circulate 15 Orion StarBlast 4.5-inch astronomical telescopes for use by library cardholders.

The telescopes are available to borrow for 7 days from the branch libraries listed further down on this page.*

*Telescopes are temporarily unavailable at the Northside, Green Township, Avondale, Mariemont, and Clifton branches for necessary repairs until further notice. 

How to Check Out a Telescope

Checking out a telescope is easy! All you need is a Library card in good standing, with less than $10 in fines and/or no items 12 days or more overdue. Call or visit one of the branch libraries listed below to reserve a telescope for 7 days.

The telescopes must be checked out from and returned to the following branch libraries:

What's Included in the Telescope Bundle

You will receive training from a Library staff member when picking up a telescope. The telescope will come with two eye pieces, an Orion EZ Finder II Reflex Sight, a star chart, a detailed telescope instruction manual, and three books to help enrich your experience.
