All Aboard! CHPL’s Discover Summer Gets Rolling June 1

Hello, this is your Content Specialist conductor speaking! In just a few days, our summer-long journey of discovery for kids and teens will be underway across CHPL’s 41 neighborhood branches. Hop on board as we run down everything you need to know ahead of Discover Summer, opens a new window. First things first, let’s get started with some music (streaming and on CD free with your library card, of course) to get in the groove for a summer of fun!

“People All Over The World – Join Hands”

The best journeys are those you choose. Luckily for you, each Discover Summer to-go pack is free and includes an age-appropriate activity booklet with exciting activities to explore. Visit your neighborhood branch library, opens a new window on June 1 to pick up a Discover Summer activity booklet, as well as a book to keep! (There’s even a new booklet this year en español!) Early literacy calendars are also available for preschool families.

“The Next Stop That We Make Will Be...”

The best thing about this discovery-powered train is that it stops wherever (and whenever) you want. This year, kids and teens can meet their own Discovery Goals they set in their activity booklets to get completion prizes and get entered for grand prizes. And, with helpful library staff ready to help you find resources and materials, there are infinite possibilities for learning! This year’s grand prizes include FC Cincinnati tickets, Beats® Flex Wireless Earphones, entry into the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, and more. There’s no need to purchase a ticket for this ride. Discover Summer, opens a new window is free for all kids and teens across Hamilton County. Plus, free meals and snacks, opens a new window are available Mondays through Fridays during the summer beginning Tuesday, May 31 at most library locations.
