Your Updated Hyde Park Branch Library

After more than 50 years since its last update, the primary goals of this project were to bring major accessibility and layout improvements to this popular branch built in 1912.

"We're incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to maintain our direct connection with the Hyde Park community at our temporary location," says Ben Lathrop, Hyde Park Branch Manager, "Now that the much-needed renovations are complete,  we're excited to return home and re-open the doors that have welcomed 'minds of all kinds' for over 112 years. All of us at the Hyde Park Branch can't wait to show you all of the incredible updates and improvements we've made."

Please note the investment for this project is $5.8 million.

Sneak Peek at the Renovated Branch

While the final preparations are being made ahead of the reopening celebration, here's a sneak peek at the new renovated spaces. Both building entrances have been upgraded to be level. A brand-new, large elevator is another key update that's been made to improve the library experience for customers with mobility challenges. Other features requested by customers that were made to the branch include:

  • Brand-New Flooring, Paint, and Furniture
  • Improved Meeting Room
  • Level Parking Lot
  • Updated Kids’ Area
  • Fully Accessible Restrooms

The Hyde Park Branch Library renovation is guided by CHPL’s Facility Master Plan, which outlines improvements to your 41 library locations with input from more than 3,000 community members. The 10-year investment in improving library locations across Cincinnati and Hamilton County focuses on welcoming, accessible spaces so customers can connect with others, access resources, and have fun.
