New authors and familiar favorites were among the most read books, eBooks, and audiobooks this year for Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library customers. With CHPL's total circulation this year at over 16,500,000, these popular materials earned a coveted title as the most popular books, eBooks, and audiobooks of 2023.
Annual stalwarts John Grisham, Colleen Hoover, and James Patterson claimed many top 10 spots. Royalty graced the list with Price Harry Duke of Sussex's memoir "Spare" becoming a must-read for many customers. Bonnie Garmus' debut novel "Lessons in Chemistry" was another favorite, just as its Apple TV+ adaptation was released this year. Rebecca Yarros and Sarah Maas, both of whom are BookTok favorites, dominated the top audiobooks of the year with their "Empyrean" and "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series.
