A new kind of learning and entertainment device for kids is available for check-out from the Library!
WhaZoodles are portable speakers designed to reduce screen time and fuel kids’ imagination, learning, and entertainment.
Each device is pre-loaded with high-quality, ad-free, and kid-safe curated content like podcasts, music, short stories, games, meditations, and more. Wi-Fi or additional setup is not needed to use a WhaZoodle.
WhaZoodles are now available to browse in person at the following Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library locations:

- Delhi Township Branch
- Forest Park Branch
- Groesbeck Branch
- Symmes Township Branch

Use Your WhaZoodle in Three Modes
The devices are programmed for use by four age levels — 3 years and older, 5 years and older, 8 years and older, and 10 years and older. They also have three modes:
- Explore Mode features adventures, short stories, music, podcasts, and fun facts that encourage a lifelong love of learning.
- Recess Mode promotes fun physical activity in a safe and controlled environment with imaginative play, interactive games, and movement-based activities. It’s perfect for play, even on rainy days!
- Relax Mode gives kids space to wind down and practice mindfulness through guided meditations, calming soundscapes, gentle stretches, and self-care tools.
The stories, music, and information are curated by trusted partners like Highlights Magazine, Rebel Girls, Lightbox Learning, Smile and Learn, and others. Topics range from problem solving to space to environment to fairytales and more.
How to Use a WhaZoodle
WhaZoodles can be checked out for a three-week loan period with one courtesy renewal. If there are no holds on the item, you can renew a WhaZoodle up to eight times. Only three WhaZoodles can be checked out per cardholder.
Once you’ve checked out a WhaZoodle, the device is ready for immediate use and is made with an approachable, easy-to-use interface. You can also connect the WhaZoodle to headphones. Want to listen to the WhaZoodle during a drive? It can connect to your car’s stereo system via an auxiliary cord.
WhaZoodles can be charged using the included micro-USB cord.
