Green Township Branch Genealogy Club Commemorates Milestone

Written by Tonya Dryer, Library Services Specialist, Green Township Branch Library

The Green Township Branch's Genealogy Club recently celebrated its 10th anniversary since its first meeting in May 2013.

The event celebrating this milestone featured an activity showcasing what members have come to expect at regular meetings of the club: attendees were given a “Genealogy Passport” to be stamped at activities and displays.

One interactive display asked the participants to “Name that Census Year.” Another to name the decade of a popular tune their ancestors might have listened to. One display helped participants learn to use fashion and photography styles to identify photos. The attendees also brought in photos of their ancestors to add to the “Gallery of Grandparents.”

The Green Township Genealogy Club meets the third Thursday of each month (barring June and December) at 11:00 a.m. Find all upcoming meetings on our website.
