Help Name Your Library’s Delivery Truck

Written by Angela Hursh, Brand and Communications Director

Every day, thousands of books, movies, and other library materials travel between the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library’s 41 locations.

Right now, I'm waiting for a copy of Whistler by Ann Patchett. When another reader finishes and returns it, it will make its way to the Downtown Main Library holds shelf, where I will be eagerly waiting to pick it up.

An item returned to Harrison might be headed to Hyde Park next. A book checked out in Blue Ash could soon be on its way to Delhi. And behind every hold pickup is a network of staff, sorting equipment, and delivery trucks working together to keep our libraries connected.

CHPL's sorting and delivery network helps connect customers to materials from across the county. Whether you're picking up the newest bestseller, borrowing a movie, or discovering something unexpected, there's a good chance a delivery truck helped get it there. The Library is how materials move across our communities.

Now, we're giving you a chance to be part of that story!

Help Name the Trucks That Keep CHPL Connected

Earlier this summer, CHPL staff submitted creative naming ideas for the delivery trucks that serve library branches throughout Hamilton County. Branch and regional managers narrowed those submissions to a list of finalists. Now it's your turn to choose the winners.

From literary-inspired names to Cincinnati-themed favorites, each truck has three finalist names and needs your vote.

Vote for Your Branch's Truck

Select your library from the list below and vote for your favorite truck name.

Prefer to vote in person? Paper ballots are also available at participating library locations. Ask staff at your branch for details.

Voting ends at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26. We'll announce the winning names in September. Keep an eye on chpl.org and on our social media channels for that announcement!
