Written by Joe Armstrong, Content Specialist, Downtown Main Library

Whether you’re traveling across the world or across town, your library card is your ticket to a perfect trip. Join us on the fourth Thursday of the month at noon for a new Lunch & Learn video. This month, Keith Armour, the Library's Adult Learning and Literacies Manager, shares how to make your next trip, big or small, unforgettable with CHPL’s collection of guidebooks, passport services, and Discovery Passes.

The Library is Your Travel Planning Destination

No matter where you plan to go, the Library has a guidebook for you. Borrow a physical guidebook using our catalog, or use Libby or Hoopla to explore digital guidebooks on the go.

Passport Services

The Library’s passport service is a quick, easy, and convenient way to replace, renew, or apply for a passport with the help of trained Library staff.

Currently, the Library has five locations where you can make an appointment to get a passport. Appointments are required and take around 30 minutes per person. Check out our Passport Service page, opens a new window for a list of necessary documents to bring and additional passport services information.

Discovery Pass

The Library's Discovery Pass, opens a new window — available to borrow through our new online reservation system, opens a new window — gives free admission to the following attractions: American Sign Museum, Cincinnati Art Museum’s special exhibitions, Cincinnati Museum Center, Great Parks of Hamilton County, the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, and Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum. The number of visitors per pass varies based on the destination selected.
