Explore the Refreshed Green Township Branch Beginning Dec. 10

Written by Cate Crusham, Senior Branch Manager, Green Township Library

I am so excited to welcome everyone back to our newly refreshed space! After more than three months of renovations we are opening our doors again starting on December 10 with a branch reopening event!

Starting with a ribbon-cutting and remarks from CHPL leadership at 10 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m., the entire branch will be open for you to explore all the refreshed areas, check out family friendly activities, and more!

Celebrating Your Refreshed Library

Thank you for your patience as we made some much-needed updates based on your feedback, including from the community listening sessions we hosted in summer 2019. We've added some fun elements for kids and families, redesigned the branch’s layout to make our collection easier to navigate, and created a functional study area for individuals and groups.

At the Reopening Celebration we encourage you to explore the entire building as you'll notice something new around each corner. Take a look at some of the major improvements made during this refresh:

What’s New for You to Enjoy

We don't want to spoil all the surprises waiting for you at the refreshed branch, but there are some improvements that our team just can't wait to share! Here are just a few things the Green Township Branch team is excited to share with you:

“I can’t wait for all of our families to see the newly updated kid’s space! Come for storytime, or to pick up books, and stay for play!” Cate Crusham, Senior Branch Manager

“I think our tweens & teens will love their comfy new space with room for hanging out with their friends and charging stations!” Cheryl Selby, Teen Librarian

“Small children have always enjoyed looking up at our skylight. I look forward to everyone checking it out as they enter our newly open welcome area!” Susan Vanderbilt, Library Customer Advisor

“I cannot wait to see how our youngest customers and their families enjoy our new imaginative play area! The entire space feels much more inviting and effortlessly enjoyable, in my opinion.” Mariah Kennedy-English, Branch Supervisor

“Improved sight lines and signage will enable customers to more easily navigate the building as well as locate materials.” Jessica Bowman, Children’s Librarian

“I think our customers will be surprised at how much easier it is to browse our collections. The expanded Genealogy/Research reading area will be a big hit as well.” Keith Good, Library Customer Advisor
