Brace yourself for the bevy of ghoulish ghosts and ogling ogres that linger in these haunted verses! Join me as we visit the fantastical world of one of England’s greatest writers of lyrical poetry for kids, Walter de la Mare.
Walter is most famous for his writing for children, but "The Listeners" still manages to scare me every time I read it. And it is perfect for a cold winter's evening.
Avoid Facing Something Truly Terrifying – Filing Taxes! – With Free Prep at the Library
There are few among us who aren’t terrified each year by filing taxes, but have no fear! We’re once again joining forces with the United Way and AARP to offer free tax help and preparation at select CHPL branches. These programs are free and available to low-income and moderate-income families.
Depending on the type of assistance and library location, this service will run through April 2024.
View all the participating CHPL locations and events on our Free Tax Help webpage.
