Free Tax Help

The United Way and AARP are offering tax help and preparation at select branches of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library. These programs are free and available to low-income and moderate-income families.

Depending on the type of assistance and library location, service will begin in January 2024 and run through April 2024.

 

Tax Help Varies By Location

Downtown Main Library

  • Same-day, on-site tax assistance will be provided by AARP.
  • An appointment is required. Call the Library at 513-369-6900 or visit United Way's website.
  • Visit the Downtown Main Library's Tech Center, 1st floor of the North Building, for your appointment.

Groesbeck Branch Library

  • Drop-off tax assistance will be provided by United Way’s Free Tax Prep initiative. 
  • An appointment is required. Call the Library at 513-369-6900 or visit United Way's website.

Harrison Branch Library

  • Drop-off tax assistance will be provided by United Way’s Free Tax Prep initiative.
  • An appointment is required. Call the Library at 513-369-6900 or visit United Way's website.

Madisonville Branch Library

  • Same-day, on-site tax assistance will be provided by United Way’s Free Tax Prep initiative.
  • An appointment is required. Call the Library at 513-369-6900, visit United Way's website.

North Central Branch Library

  • Same-day, on-site tax assistance will be provided by AARP.
  • An appointment is required. Call the Library at 513-369-6900, visit United Way's website.

Price Hill Branch Library

  • Same-day, on-site tax assistance will be provided by United Way’s Free Tax Prep initiative.
  • An appointment is required. Call the Library at 513-369-6900, visit United Way's website.

Reading Branch Library

  • Same-day, on-site tax assistance will be provided by United Way’s Free Tax Prep initiative.

What To Bring to Your Appointment

If you are missing any tax documents or records, such as a W-2 or 1099 form, contact the local Taxpayer Advocate Service Office at 513-263-3260 or 877-777-4778.

Cancel or Change Your Tax Help Appointment

Ask a Librarian for help cancelling or changing your appointment. Our staff will ask for the following information: name, appointment time, appointment location, and contact information.

Print Tax Forms and Documents

Need to print your federal, state, or local tax forms? The Library offers free printing at our locations. You do not need a library card to use this service.
