New York Times bestselling author Jamie Ford is discussing his new novel, Love and Other Consolation Prizes, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, in the Reading Garden Lounge at the Main Library.
From the author of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet and Songs of Willow Frost comes a powerful novel inspired by a true story about an orphan boy whose life is transformed when he is raffled off at Seattle’s 1909 World Fair. Against a rich backdrop of post-Victorian vice, suffrage, and celebration, Love and Other Consolation Prizes is an enchanting tale about innocence and devotion—in a world where everything, and everyone, is for sale.
Ford is signing books after his talk. Books are available for purchase courtesy of Joseph-Beth Booksellers. Members of the Friends of the Public Library can reserve seating for the event by calling 513-369-6035.
