Family History Month to focus on German history at Library

It's no secret that Cincinnati is rich in German heritage. In October, the Library is connecting its customers with print and digital items that tell the story of the earliest Hamilton County settlers and the German ancestry of the southwest Ohio region.

Day with the Genealogy Experts

Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Main Library (800 Vine St., downtown Cincinnati.) Registration is not required for any of these events.     

  • 10 a.m. and noon: Tour the Genealogy & Local History Department.
  • 11 a.m. Researching your Early Hamilton County Ancestors.
    Explore the rich resources that are available to Hamilton County researchers for the time period before 1850.
  • Noon to 2 p.m. Take advantage of free one-on-one consultations provided by more than 20 experts representing two dozen regional organizations with specializations ranging from ethnic genealogy to court records.
  • 2 p.m. What’s New in German Genealogy?
    Learn about the myriad resources recently available on the internet for researchers searching for their German ancestors.
