Go on an adventure this summer with Brain Camp

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is offering free Brain Camps this summer. Campers have their pick of attending any of the camps offered at the branches, or coming down to the Main Library for the Homework Center Brain Camps.

Brain Camp: Summer Adventure at Branches

Students in grades 1–5 will read stories, make themed crafts, play fun games, experiment with science and create a little bit of art. Registration is required.

Mini Brain Camps

These two-hour mini camps will explore a variety of STREAM topics and are designed for children entering grades 1–5.

Storybook Science — Explore science through literature! Engage in various challenges inspired by children’s books.

NASA @ My Library — Explore space and engineering through hands-on projects and take a virtual reality trip to space with Google Expeditions.

Patterns in Art — Explore math through art! Create fun art projects with patterns, paper, and yarn.

Homework Center Brain Camps at Main Library

All camps run from 1–4 p.m. Registration is required.

Summer Adventure: June 4–8 for grades 1–5

Read great stories, make themed crafts, play fun games, experiment with science, and create a little bit of art.

Art Adventure: June 11–15 for grades 1–2 | July 9–13 for grades 3–5

Experiment with paint, water colors, pastels, chalk, colored pencils and crayons. You will have such fun creating the works of Frida Kahlo and Henri Matisse alongside other famous artists throughout the ages. Photography included.

Lego Robotics Adventure: June 18–22 for grades 6–8 | July 23–27 for grades 3–5

Use the LEGO Mindstorm EV3 to build, program, and command your own LEGO robots. This introductory robotics course will help you make your robot faster, smarter, and more fun than ever.

STREAM Adventure: June 25–29 for grades 1–5

Build, explore, experiment and an even cook all summer long. Each session will focus on Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Math – STREAM.

           

Geography: July 16–20 for grades 1–2

Search for Rufus the Reading Dog, where in the world can he hide? Make a passport and visit the continents one by one.

 

ACT Prep Adventure: July 30–Aug. 3 for grades 10–12
