The Greenhills Branch, part of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County system, has moved from its space at 7 Endicott St. into the Greenhills Community Building at 8 Enfield St. The branch opened at noon today, Wednesday, Dec. 14.
“We wanted to open the branch as soon as it was ready. We hope members of the Greenhills community stop by to explore their new space and join us next week for a celebration,” said Kimber L. Fender, the Eva Jane Romaine Coombe Director of the Library.
The former location in the Greenhills Shopping Center closed for repairs Aug. 25 after heavy rains caused a leak in the roof, which in turn damaged the ceiling. The Library’s board of trustees made the decision to move the branch to the 2,325-square-foot space in the Greenhills Community Building, which is owned and operated by Winton Woods City Schools.
“Libraries and schools share a common mission to better the communities they serve,” said Winton Woods Schools Community and Public Engagement Coordinator Corina Denny. “Winton Woods City Schools is excited to join the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County in accommodating the Greenhills branch library as it works diligently to serve library patrons and community members. This kind of partnership is a natural extension of the roles schools and libraries play in sharing knowledge and promoting education.”
