Library adds additional digital magazine service to collection

Magazine lovers now have access to thousands of free magazines available to download 24 hours a day, seven days a week as part of a new service offered by the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. The Library recently added the digital magazine service called Flipster, which allows customers to access magazines using their e-readers, computers, tablets, or mobile devices.

“Flipster offers a variety of popular business, lifestyle, family, sports, and current event titles,” says Holly Varley, Collection Development Manager of the Library. “Library cardholders can use their library card to access current and back issues of titles for all ages.”

Flipster includes magazines, such as Ranger Rick, Jr., Kiplinger’s Retirement Report, Black Belt, Cricket, Entrepreneur, Ladybug, Log Home Living, Muscle & Performance, National Review, and Old House Journal as well as ShopSmart, which is no longer available from the Library’s other digital magazine service, Zinio.

The Zinio Digital Magazines collection recently expanded to include niche and regional interest titles, Spanish language titles, and Indian magazines written in English.

All of the Library's digital magazines can be accessed at CincinnatiLibrary.org/magazines-newspapers. For more information, call 513-369-6900.
