The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and Books by the Banks are looking for the next great local author. Enter our publishing contest for a chance to publish your book and participate as an author at the Books by the Banks Regional Book Festival 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at the Duke Energy Convention Center, 525 Elm St., downtown.
The day-long festival, which is free and open to the public, features national, regional and local authors and illustrators; book signings; panel discussions and activities for the entire family to enjoy.
The contest winner receives:
- 40 copies of their book with an ISBN, printed on the library’s Espresso Book Machine
- Cover design
- The opportunity to promote and sign their book at Books by the Banks (books are sold at the festival by Joseph-Beth Booksellers)
Entries are being accepted July 1- July 31. You must be a resident of Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana and able to attend the festival to be considered. Eligible genres include: fiction, narrative nonfiction (including history, biography and memoir), children's or teen literature and regional history and interest. The mission of Books by the Banks is to entertain and enrich the lives of people in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The organization works throughout the year to present and promote authors, while celebrating the joy of literacy and lifelong learning through reading and writing. The premiere event is the Books by the Banks Cincinnati Regional Book Festival held annually in downtown Cincinnati.
