Public Library’s Summer Adventure is passport to fun this summer

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is gearing up to read, explore and create during their epic summer reading event. Starting June 1, Hamilton County residents can stop by any Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County location to get a Summer Adventure kit, which includes:

  • A Summer Adventure passport
  • A free book
  • A voucher for a free View Level ticket to a Cincinnati Reds game
  • A Coney Island coupon

Residents of all ages will use the passport as a guide during the Summer Adventure program, which runs through July 31. Adventurers will record their reading and other learning activities and check in at the Library once per week to earn prizes. Weekly check-in starts June 3. At each weekly check in, participants also are entered for a chance to win the Grand Prize, four tickets to Coney Island. Winners will be chosen Aug. 1.

The Library recommends reading at least 20 minutes each day as part of the Summer Adventure. Each week also has an exploration theme, including the arts, pop culture, science, nature and sports. These themes serve as a guide for fun and engaging activities that encourage learning all summer.

The Library thanks the following organizations for their generous financial supports of Summer Adventure: The Library Foundation, the Friends of the Public Library, the Anderson Township Library Association, Western & Southern, and our media sponsors Metro and Cincinnati Family Magazine.
