April 15: The design process is progressing quickly. The Library intends to have an engagement session in early summer to share the designs, the timeline, and the plans for the temporary location. The temporary location is scheduled to begin operation in September. As noted previously, the existing branch will be demolished with a larger Next Generation Library being built on the site.

Design is underway, with construction expected to start in late 2026 and finish before the end of 2027. The current branch will be replaced by a larger, Next Generation Library.

The design process will begin in late 2025 with hopes of construction beginning in late 2026. The current project budget is $18,000,000. After careful review of the current projects, the Library will work with Emersion Design on the project.

J.S. Held will serve as the Owner’s Representative on the project and will be active in the design process. The team plans to commence design immediately with the intent of beginning construction next August and completion before the end of 2027. The existing branch will be demolished with a larger next generational Library being built on the site.

The Library is working with Delhi Township on a temporary location of township-owned property. At the October 2025 Board of Trustees meeting, the Trustees gave permission to the Library to negotiate and execute a lease for the temporary Delhi Township Branch during the construction project.

Week of August 12, 2024: The Library has continued working with our partners on options for the Delhi Township Branch in accordance with the original FMP timeline of 2026-2027 implementation. We will include township officials and the community as options develop.

Week of October 8, 2023: The Library has been working with the architect, SHP, along with Turner Construction and JS Held on site maximization at the Delhi Township Branch. Potential options include acquiring a 25-foot strip of property to widen the entry and connect with the Delhi Park at the rear of the
Library site.

This option would result in expense associated with utility relocation. We continue to explore options and plan to meet with township officials when we have more to share.
