Stay connected throughout our buildings with freestanding laptop-dispensing kiosks. These dispensers securely hold laptops, which contain the same suite of software as the Library’s public desktops. Customers can check out and return laptops directly from the kiosk unit with radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology.
Library cardholders may borrow one laptop at a time for two hours of use in the Library building.
Laptop Kiosk Locations
The kiosks are located in the Main Library’s Coworking Space and Atrium, and the Avondale, Cheviot, Clifton, College Hill, Corryville, Covedale, Deer Park, Forest Park, Groesbeck, Loveland, Madisonville, opens a new window, Mariemont, Mt. Healthy, Mt. Washington, North Central, Pleasant Ridge, Price Hill, Reading, St. Bernard, Walnut Hills, and Westwood branch libraries.
Software Included on Kiosk Laptops
The hundreds of Dell laptops in our kiosks run Microsoft Windows 11 and include webcams. Installed programs include but are not limited to:
- Adobe Acrobat
- Audacity
- GIMP
- Google Earth
- Magnify, Windows' magnification program
- Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Edge)
- Windows Media Player
