You’re Invited: Green Township Branch Reopening Celebration

The wait is over! Construction at the Green Township Branch Library is wrapping up and you’re invited to check out the updated and improved branch at our Reopening Celebration, opens a new window on Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Get Your First Look at the Refreshed Branch

After more than three months of renovations, the Reopening Celebration, opens a new window is your first chance to discover all the new improvements to the branch, 6525 Bridgetown Rd, opens a new window. Enjoy activities for all ages while you check out the new welcome area and displays, renovated meeting room with kitchenette, brand new teen area, accessible restrooms, and dedicated quiet space. The event starts with a ribbon-cutting and remarks from library leadership at 10 a.m. and continues until 6 p.m.

Your Refreshed Green Township Branch Library

The improvements at the Green Township Branch are based on feedback at community listening sessions we hosted in summer 2019. We're excited to incorporate much of your feedback, creating play and learn spaces for children and families, as well as a quiet study and work area for adults. Since some of our most popular programs are storytimes and family events, as well as genealogical and research clubs, we’re happy that our renovations will focus on making these experiences even better at the branch.

Here are just some of the improvements to the branch we’re excited for you to enjoy:

New Views

The old, expansive front desk has been replaced with a smaller service point installed along the wall near the entrance. This extra space will give you more space to browse and enjoy within the branch (and have better views of the beautiful skylight above the old desk area!).

Opening with Flying Colors

The old green carpet has been replaced with a brighter blue and the entire interior of the branch received new paint, which highlights the unique architecture of the building.

Accessibility Upgrades

The branch’s restrooms have been entirely renovated, complete with new floor and wall tiling, and are now fully accessible.

And that’s not all! There are plenty of new equipment, spaces, and experiences we’re excited for you to discover, including:

Staying Connected Until the Opening

Ahead of the reopening on Saturday, December 10, temporary book and materials returns will be located at the top of our driveway so you can easily return materials at any time.
