Lemonade on the Lawn Returns May 20!

Written by Krystie Salyers, Reference Librarian, Downtown Main Library

Lemonade on the Lawn is back!  Join us Saturday, May 20, from noon-3 p.m. for the 2nd annual LGBTQIA+ Health and Well-being Fair, at the Clifton Branch Library.

Returning with More Services and Resources

Over a dozen organizations will be attending Lemonade on the Lawn, offering health and wellbeing services to the LGBTQIA+ folks in our communities. Opening remarks will feature Dr. Sarah Pickle as well as a University of Cincinnati student. Dr. Pickle, according to The Health Collaborative, is "a trailblazer in the field of transgender medicine." In order to ensure that LGBTQIA+ patients in our community receive exceptional medical care, she and her colleagues at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine created one of the first nationally recognized transgender-focused medical school curriculums in the country.

Registration is not required for the event and all ages are welcome. Light refreshments and (of course!) lemonade will be provided. Participating organizations include:

Two of the attending organizations, Caracole and Lighthouse Youth Services shared some information about what to expect at the LGBTQIA+ Health and Well-being Fair:

What services and resources will you be sharing at Lemonade on the Lawn?

Caracole: We will have information on our housing, case management, and prevention services, along with information on harm reduction, PrEP/PEP assistance, and will have at home HIV test kits on hand to give out for free.
Lighthouse Youth Services: Foster care and adoption information, how to become a foster parent and foster parent resources, outpatient and clinic services, and information about therapy services, case management services, and diagnostic assessments and medication management services provided by our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
