CHPL’s MakerSpace Expo Showcases Community Utilization for Small Businesses and Career Building

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library held a MakerSpace Expo at the Downtown Main Library on April 23. The event successfully demonstrated the Library’s commitment to fostering workforce development and entrepreneurship within the community. The event attracted an enthusiastic crowd, including Library leadership, workforce development partners, small business owners, and entrepreneurs.

The MakerSpace Expo provided a platform for attendees to engage with Library customers who have used the MakerSpace facilities to advance their careers, start new businesses, and grow existing ventures. The event featured live demonstrations of equipment available for anyone to reserve at the Library's MakerSpace, including 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, and audio/video production tools. Visitors also had the opportunity to use the new sublimation printer to create personalized koozies to take home.

For those interested in utilizing the Library’s MakerSpace for their next project, they can check out our MakerSpace page on the Library’s website at CHPL.org/makerspace.
