Library helping adults prepare, dress for careers in Ohio during In-Demand Jobs Week

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is joining Ohio in its first statewide celebration of In-Demand Jobs Week, May 7-11, by offering a series of engaging events and promotions at select Library locations. In-Demands Jobs Week is a statewide celebration of jobs, industries and skills that are in demand in Ohio. The purpose is to help students and job seekers learn and get excited about the careers that are available and in-demand in their local communities.

The Library will begin the celebration by launching Tiebrary, a new workforce development service Monday, May 7 at the Main Library. Tiebrary allows cardholders to check out various accessories including ties, bow ties and professional scarves to use during job interviews.

The Library also is offering a Higher Education Fair 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Delhi Township Branch Library. Representatives from the Regional Association for Adult Higher Education (RAAHE) are at the branch to provide information for adults looking to further their education. Admission representatives from area colleges such as the University of Cincinnati, Indiana Wesleyan University, Xavier University and more are on hand to answer questions, explore academic programs and review transcripts.

More than 200 jobs in Ohio are considered "in demand," based on labor market information, job postings on OhioMeansJobs.com, JobsOhio regional forecasts and employer forecasts. To see a list of in-demand jobs in Ohio, visit OhioMeansJobs.com.
