Marine veteran, local radio host Lincoln Ware to speak at Veterans Day event Nov. 12 at Main Library

Local radio host Lincoln Ware is the keynote speaker for the 64th Veterans Day Commemoration at the Main Library. The program begins at 10:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the atrium of the South Building.

Ware is a Cincinnati native and a graduate of Woodward High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service. He officially began his radio career in 1973 and currently hosts the “Lincoln Ware Show” on WDBZ 1230 AM, for which he has received local and national honors.

The Veterans Day Commemoration is free and open to the public. It includes patriotic music, the presentation of Memorial Wreaths, the lighting of the Flame of Remembrance, and the playing of “Taps.” The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Public Library and the Library Programs Fund.

Information about the Veterans History Project is available during the event. The Veterans History Project is coordinated by the Library of Congress and records local veterans’ memories through oral histories and documents, which are accessible via the website.
