What: Financial Planning Day
Where: Main Library, 800 Vine St.
When: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13
Why: Financial Planning Day is part of a series of community events aimed at helping Americans discover the value of financial planning. Customers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a highly qualified Certified Financial Planning professional, who will be able to discuss personal finance questions, concerns and interests through both a free private consultation and a series of informative classroom workshops.
Workshop schedule:
- 10 a.m. — Medicare/Medicaid and Elderly Abuse: An overview on the Medicare and Medicaid systems and the differences between them.
- 11 a.m. — Taking Control of Your Finances: Basic elements of financial planning including emergency reserves, budgeting, retirement planning, and basic estate planning.
- Noon — Social Security Basics: Understanding your Social Security benefits.
