The Summer Learning Program, one of the most important programs offered by the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton, is looking for volunteers to help make a difference in their neighborhood. Two different volunteer positions are available for adults and teens this year at select Library branch locations.
- Summer Learning Program Assistants are teen volunteer positions for ages 12-18. These volunteers help customers at the branches to register for the Summer Reading Program, log their progress, and hand out prizes. Volunteers are needed from June 1–July 31. Some volunteers may have the chance to stay on and serve in another capacity after the program ends.
- Summer Feeding Program Assistants are adult and teen volunteers who serve lunches to children at specified branches. They set up, clean up, take attendance, assist with activities, and interact with the kids. Volunteers are needed are Monday through Friday from June 6–Aug. 5. Lunchtime varies by branch but usually falls between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. A minimum weekly commitment from volunteers for this position is required.
Adult applications for Summer Feeding Program Assistants are being processed in March. New teen volunteer applications for either position are being processed after April 1.
