We are so excited to announce that the Green Township Branch Library is receiving a refresh as part of CHPL’s Building the Next Generation Library project!
By this winter, you’ll be able to experience the branch’s first significant improvements since it opened in 1990, including plenty of new services and reimagined spaces for you to enjoy. To complete the project quickly and safely, the Green Township Branch will close for about 90 days beginning August 29.
A Refreshed Green Township Branch
The improvements at the Green Township Branch are based on feedback at community listening sessions we hosted in summer 2019. We are excited to incorporate much of your feedback, creating play and learn spaces for children and families, as well as a quiet study and work area for adults. Since some of our most popular programs are storytimes and family events, as well as genealogical and research clubs, we’re happy that our renovations will focus on making these experiences even better at the branch.
Another change will be evident right when you walk in the front door. The entire interior of the branch will get a fresh coat of paint. New carpet will be laid throughout and the meeting room will be updated with new vinyl tile flooring.
Our front desk will be removed and a smaller service area will be added, opening up the space for additional book displays, more comfortable seating, and more public computers.

Throughout the building, shelving will be changed to allow for better sightlines to better accommodate our customers with mobility challenges and more straightforward browsing.

Restrooms in the branch will be made fully accessible.

Staying Connected During Construction
During the 90-day closure, temporary book and materials returns will be located at the bottom of our driveway so you can easily return materials. Your holds at the Green Township Branch Library will automatically be rerouted to the nearby Cheviot Branch Library for pickup. If you’d like your holds to be sent to one of our other neighborhood branches let staff know in person or online.
