Are you a presidential history buff? Then save the date for Tuesday, Oct. 5, when Doris Kearns Goodwin is speaking as part of the annual Mary S. Stern Lecture series. The event is at 7 p.m. at the Aronoff Center. Tickets are $5 and go on sale later this summer.
Goodwin is a world-renowned historian, international keynote speaker, and Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times bestselling author. Her talk features her seventh book, Leadership in Turbulent Times.
The book focuses on presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Lyndon B. Johnson to show how they first recognized leadership qualities within themselves and were recognized by others as leaders. It seeks to answer questions like: Are leaders born or made? Where does ambition come from? And, does the man make the times, or do the times make the man?

Share Your Perspective: Attend a Community Forum
The Library is proud to be co-sponsoring community forums with a local non-partisan think tank, Action Tank, focused around the central themes of leadership found in Leadership in Turbulent Times. Join other members of the community as we ask the question "What should we expect from our elected leaders?"
The first community forum takes place at the Price Hill Branch 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 3. Registration is required. Additional forums leading up to the Mary S. Stern lecture will be announced soon.
